IN his letter headlined "MP's tale of foreign domination", Phillip Bushill Matthews says: "That is why a change in our own government is so critical - even though N Taylor disagrees."
Mr Bushill Matthews is wrong. I do not disagree with the idea of changing our government. The next election is probably going to be the last time we shall have the option of voting our government out of office.
Thereafter we shall be ruled by European politicians who we shall never be able to vote out of office.
In Mr Bushill-Matthew's original letter he said: "If we want to see a change in the EU we have to change our own government first." My letter said: "I should like to ask what good that will do."
Mr Matthews has ducked the question. He has also ducked my statement that all three political parties are determined to subjugate England to European rule, ducked the fact that those who want nothing to do with Europe will be ignored, and ducked the fact that the Conservative and Labour parties see nothing wrong in an electoral system that has given both parties power against the declared wishes of the electorate.
And finally, he has ducked my last question: "How can politicians pretend to be democratically elected when "most" of the electorate doesn't vote, because elections are so corrupt?
That politicians, elected by far less than half the electorate, are determined to force us into Europe, against the wishes of at least half the wide electorate, is an obscene parody of democracy.
That the electorate are willing to stand for such political fanaticism defines their contempt for political processes that have long ceased to represent the people, and which we now view with a smouldering hatred that sooner or later will burst into an electoral inferno. All it is going to take is a big enough (BNP or UKIP) match.
N TAYLOR,
Worcester.
