MEN claiming to be from the council have conned their way into the home of an elderly woman and stolen cash and jewellery.
Two men knocked on the pensioner's door in Lower Wyche Road, Malvern, on Monday at around 8.50pm, and said they needed to check her water.
Various rooms
As one went into the kitchen, the other went into various rooms in the house.
After they had left, the victim realised that a quantity of cash and jewellery, including rings and a brooch, had been stolen.
The first man is described as white, aged about 20, 5ft 5ins tall, clean-shaven with a small face.
He wore a navy blue tracksuit and a baseball cap.
The second man was also a white male, of a similar age, but with short, light-brown hair. He too was clean-shaven and wore a blue tracksuit.
Police are appealing for anyone who thinks they may have seen the two men in the area, or who may have seen them getting into a vehicle in the area, to contact them on 08457 444888, quoting 209C/140403.
