A SCHEME to relocate Blackmore Park Stables at Hanley Swan, near Upton-upon-Severn, is likely to receive planning approval this week.
Lauriston House Estates wants to move the equestrian enterprise to the adjoining Blackmore Park Industrial Estate, building 20 loose boxes, three hay stores, a tack room and office in five separate buildings around an arena.
There have been numerous objections from nearby residents worried about the water supply, a public footpath crossing the site, the intrusion into the countryside and the effect on a shared access lane from the B4208 Blackmore Park Road.
Water supply
Planning officers say Severn Trent Water would be required to ensure there was sufficient pressure on the water supply.
They say the development would not affect the public right of way or cause significant harm to the residential amenities of the nearest neighbour.
Visibility has recently been improved at the access to Blackmore Park Road and officers are satisfied there is sufficient parking space on the site. They are recommending the southern area planning committee to approve the plans, subject to conditions.
