THE 23rd annual Worcestershire Cricket Board Tornado Trophy indoor six-a-side tournament for under 16s took place at the Cricket Centre of Excellence at Prince Henry's High School, Evesham.

The final was contested by old rivals Worcester Dominies & Guild and Pershore who were respective winners of their groups in a revised format.

Dominies, batting first, scored 92-1 in their 10 overs (Alistair Wilkinson 27 retired, Matthew Brace 25 retired) and restricted Pershore to 79-5 (Ben Bales 44) to win by 13 runs.

Bowlers had a hard time under the playing conditions.

The Tornado Trophy was presented to the winning captain Harry Penwarden by Derek Russell, chairman of WCB junior and youth competitions.

The rest of the Dominies side consisted of Andrew Ford, Dominic D'Oliveira and Matt Cale.

The 'Team Award' was presented by Tim Granger, chairman of Worcestershire Cricket Umpires & Scorers Assocation, to first time entrants Worcestershire Girls whose captain was Holly Penwarden, sister of Harry.

Third/fourth play-offs: Evesham 107-2 (M Howman 28 retired, W Lloyd 28 retired, C Woodman 26 retired) beat Halesowen 77-3.

Group final: Pershore 71-4 (B Bales 30 retired) bt Worcester Nomads 69-3 (N Newport 25 retired)

Group B: Dominies & Guild 74-2 (A Wilkinson 28 retired) bt Victoria 73-5; Worcs Girls 80-4 (Fern Bagley 26 retired) bt Alvechurch 64-6.

Third/fourth play-off: Victoria 79-1 (M Bilbo 27 retired, C Mitchell 26 retired) bt Alvechurch 78-5.

Group final: Dominies & Guild 47-2 bt Worcs Girls 44-4.
