FORMER Bromsgrove Rovers and Aston Villa stars will join together next month to raise money for the West Midlands Baby Kyle Community Health Group in aid of the Meningitis Trust.

The Old Star sides from the two clubs will face each other at Rovers' Victoria Ground on Sunday, May 11 from 2.30pm and not last Sunday as previously printed.

Among the Rovers stalwarts will be Chris Hanks, Maurice O'Connell and Stewart Brighton while Nigel Spink, Tony Daley and Mark Walters are expected to feature for Aston Villa.

The event has been organised by David Stephens, of Bromsgrove Rovers Supporters Society, to raise money for research into the disease, which can be fatal.

It is a subject close to David's heart after two children of close friend Rob Jay were struck down with the disease last year. Thankfully, both made full recoveries but Rob, and wife Ann, now want to give something back to the Trust with all proceeds from the match going to the charity.

Admission is by programme, costing £2.50 each. They can be purchased from the Advertiser/Messenger offices, in High Street, Rovers' commercial office and Victoria Club, the DDS&S Club, in Stourbridge Road, and the Red Lion, in High Street.

Programmes will also be available on the day.
