DEAR EDITOR -- A reported £9m of lottery money is to be spent on the canals in Droitwich? GREAT, just GREAT!
But what about spending a few thousands clearing up the Droitwich town centre?
Just walk over the bridge towards Vines Lane. It has taken the saplings growing there three years to get to a height of two feet, but then they do have to grow through the pavement. Continue walking up Crutch Lane, if you can find the sign.
The footpath is unusable, and has been for the last 15 years. Sorry, I lie, the council has made half-hearted attempts to clean up on two occasions.
With elections looming the last thing this town needs is politicians, whatever their party. What is needed, or course, is people who care for this town.
R L Evans,
Augustine Drive,
Droitwich Spa.
