DEAR EDITOR -- We would like you to help us in our quest to change peoples' attitudes towards Older People.
One of the ways this can be done, and where you can help, is by educating your staff and readers to address us as Older People and not as greys, pensioners, senior citizens, or just old people.
Amongst the Forums for Older People around the country there is a concerted effort to get the message across that we are Older People (over 50) and we do not want to be labelled or put into an 'exclusive bracket'.
There are eight Older People Forums in Worcestershire who are networking and consulting with statutory bodies and other voluntary organisations, dealing with issues and policies that are relevant to our age.
We are older people speaking up for older people.
I hope you will be able to help with this very important 'issue'.
Eve C Freer,
Chair,
Droitwich Spa Area Forum for Older People.
