AN inquest jury sitting at the Hundred House pub in Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove, decided that Frank Taylor, aged 19, had committed suicide while having an unsound mind. He had been found sitting against a hay rick behind the Board School in Stourbridge Road with an empty bottle of carbolic acid by his side. He had worked for Mr Corbett's Mineral Water Company in Bromsgrove, and where the jury heard there had recently been an incident. Taylor had thrust a bag over the head of the boss' daughter, whom he suspected of having told her father he had played football during working hours.

MEMBERS of many of the district's titled and leading families were present at the Worcestershire Hunt point-to-point held at Crowle, near Droitwich. The main race for the Lady Dudley Cup was won by a horse called Red Hall from the Ledbury country. His name would be the first to be engraved on the new cup, the previous one having been won outright last year.

RUBERY'S new church schools were opened by the Bishop of Worcester on Wednesday. They were situated 200 yards south of St Chad's church where, until now, classes for village infants had been held.
