ON Wednesday, April 2, members of the Droitwich Spa Rotary Club and their ladies visited Christ's College, Cambridge, where the President, Sandy Laird, was a student in his undergraduate days.
We travelled by Commandery Coach and were shown around the college by Dr Wilkinson, who is an Egyptologist. We saw the wonderful gardens, lawns, trees, shrubs and plants in the three impressive courts.
We also visited the historic library and chapel and had lunch where Darwin and Milton had been students. For lunch we had salmon en croute, fresh fruit salad and Christ's College wine. During lunch we enjoyed the company of members of Cambridge Rotary Club and their wives.
During the afternoon we split up into smaller groups and the Cambridge Rotarians took us on a tour of University College.
We are grateful to Sandy for taking us to see this wonderful historic college.
