AN inquest was due to open yesterday into the death of a female driver at a level crossing near Droitwich Spa.
Susan Smith was killed when a high speed post train ploughed into her blue Volkswagen Golf in Dunhampstead.
Worcestershire coroner Victor Round, who revealed the victim was a 45-year-old nurse from Droitwich, was expected to open the inquest into her death at the Stourport-on-Severn coroner's court.
The death smash happened last Monday at 6.45pm.
Wreckage from the vehicle was shunted almost two miles along the Birmingham to Cheltenham line before the train driver could stop.
