A RUBERY woman is ready to make her mark on the world of Polocrosse as she prepares for the inaugural World Cup in Australia.
England international Debbie Harris, of Holywell Lane, landed at Warwick, Queensland, last week ahead of the sports one-week World Cup, starting on Monday, April 28.
The 21-year-old, who has played the sport for nine years, will line-up against seven other teams for the coveted top prize.
Polocrosse is a three-a-side combination of Lecross and polo played on horseback.
At the World Cup women and men will play separate matches but their scores will be brought together for a final total.
In her career, Debbie, who plays for Pendle Wildcats in Lancashire, has captained the England U21s side at a tournament in South Africa and has picked up awards for best player and best horse at the national championships.
She said: "It is a dream come true and I am still pinching myself. We are currently ranked fifth in the world but are ready to make our mark and improve that to two or three."
