BROMSGROVE Indoor Bowls Centre has finished runners-up in the Wessex League All-England championships after losing 82-71 to Plymouth.
In an incredibly tight match, heralded as one of the best finals ever, the Austin Road centre's team was level 35-35 after ten ends and 53-53 at 15 ends.
But over the last six ends, with some fine bowling and a bit of luck, Plymouth secured the title and handed Bromsgrove only their second defeat this season.
Team manager Tom Farrar said: "This has been our best season ever.
"I know the team desperately wanted to bring home the championship.
"To think that in such a short time we have become the second best team in England is an incredible achievement and next year we will be back."
