Ludlow Cycling Club got their time-trial season off to a flying start with the opening race on the hilly Ashford circuit.
The weather was fine for the 11.4 mile trial, so much so it encouraged Mick Davey to race on his tricycle.
Local man Mick is a seasoned veteran and long standing member of the club. The day's honours went to Jon Ashby (Climb On Bikes RT) who was in superb form again and recorded an amazing lap time of 13:26 to finish in a total of 27:14.
Ludlow's own Chris Williams was nearby in second place and Wendy Hall beat Climb On Bikes RT team-mate Clive Beacon into third place by 18 seconds.
Ludlow's Phil Smart recorded a personal best time on the course, even though there was a slight headwind on the long section from Sheet Road island to the turn to Ashford.
Full results were: Jon Ashby, 27:14; Chris Williams, 28:56; Wendy Hall, 29:43; Clive Beacon, 30:01; Dover Disney, 30:07; Chris Lines, 30:22; Neal Deller, 31:53; Bob Woodley, 31:54; Dave Heaven, 32:11; Gabby McDermott, 33:38; Phil Smart, 34:17 (PB); Steve Butts, 34:59; John Hall, 36:01; Geoff Hudson, 36:59; Mick Davey, 38:11.
