IAN Britton is hoping his plea for Kidderminster Harriers players to "just go for it" will continue to bear fruit after Tuesday's 1-0 win at Rochdale.
The Division Three dark horses are three points off the play-offs with only four games left following their first win in seven fixtures.
Britton's efforts to take the pressure off his team leads them into a crucial clash at home to in-form promotion rivals Wrexham on Saturday.
Harriers head to another club above them, York City, on Monday (3pm) and two positive results over the Bank Holiday weekend could improve their chances drastically.
But they will be hindered by the loss of top scorer Bo Henriksen through suspension for both games.
Britton admitted: "We've decided to just go for it and play football the way we want to play it.
"It's still going to be difficult for us but what it now means is that teams will be looking over their shoulders at us.
"We won't give up, we don't want to go out with a whimper and our performances in the last few games deserved more than the points we actually got.
"We still have to play Wrexham and York who are in those play-off places. It's still in our grasp."
Sam Shilton's winner at Rochdale partly made up for a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Oxford on Saturday when Harriers conceded a crucial late goal.
Striker Henriksen became the first Kidderminster player to reach 20 Football League goals at the weekend.
His two-match ban is likely to give another chance to the partnership of on-loan Andy Bishop and Drewe Broughton.
Britton praised Broughton on Tuesday and said: "Drewe played very well. He has been very disappointed because he hasn't been playing recently."
The manager has rallied his small squad, calling teenage keeper John Danby back from Stourport Swifts as cover for Stuart Brock after releasing the experienced Fraser Digby.
But defender Adie Smith sprained his knee on Tuesday and is rated as 50-50 for the weekend with Scott Stamps on stand-by.
Brock (knee), Bishop (knee), Dean Bennett (thigh) and John Melligan (blisters) are all expected to be fit, despite nursing injuries.
