GARDENING CLUB: What a splendid sight awaited visitors to King George's Hall on Saturday, April 12 on the occasion of Mickleton Gardening Club's Spring Show. There were lots of daffodils, narcissi and tulips, splendid pot plants and exquisite floating flower heads. Chairman Bridget Maslin thanked show organiser, Ann Wall, for all her hard work and was pleased to announce that Mrs B Kitchen had gained the most points for her exhibits. The club is most grateful to Mr J Meredith for judging the flowers and Mrs B M Broughton the flower arrangements.
This year four classes from Mickleton School had participated and everyone enjoyed the children's artistic entries. The winners were - class 1 Fantasy Gardens, Rebecca Nevin; class 2 Bowl of Fruit, India Bennett; class 3 Flowers, Betony Charman; class 4 A Vase of Flowers, Sam Ellis. Mrs K Matthews, a member of Chipping Campden Art Group, very kindly judged the children's work.
