RBL WOMENS SECTION: The monthly meeting took place at Wulstan Hall recently. The meeting was opened by chairman Wendy Griffiths, who welcomed members. The secretary and treasurer reports were given. A list of sick members was given by Ivy Reed, sick visitor, who told members who she had been to see and had taken flowers and cards, everyone wished them well soon.
The general notices were given out concerning the next meeting and arrangements and offers of help for carnival.
The speakers for the evening were Mr Ray Steadman and Jane Daniels from Number 8, they gave an interesting talk and slides of the progress and plans for No 8. A vote of thanks was given by Laura Joyce.
Refreshments were served, the raffle and 150 club was drawn. Five members attended National Conference at Bournemouth the delegate was Ray Green.
The next meeting is on May 6, the speaker will be a prison officer. Old and new members will be very welcome.
ROTARY CLUB: Rotary Swimathon, on April 6, at the new Leisure Centre, Pershore, was well attended. The event was in aid of Wateraid which is a Rotary charity supplying badly needed wells and clean water to outlying villages in West Africa and India.
Pershore High School entered two teams of swimmers the Pershore Piranhas who completed 42 lengths and the Streamline Snakes who completed a very impressive 66 lengths, which was the top lengths in the 20 minutes allocated to the teams.
A team of swimmers from the Leisure Centre completed 60 lengths. Pinvin Middle School also entered two teams being the Sharks swimming a total of 46 lengths and the Dolphins with a total of 40. Pershore Rotary swimming 42 lengths, a team of ladies all employed by Wychavon District Council, calling themselves S clug 7, completed 33 lengths and two members from the Coral Society competed 41 laps between them.
The final amount raised for Wateraid has yet to be finalised and will be published when available. Pershore Rotary Club thanks all those who took part in the Swimathon and also all the helpers. Further information on both Wateraid and Rotary are available from Ken Rowe on 01386 554279.
ALLOTMENT ASSOCIATION: Chairman Ken Rowe confirmed that the seed orders have now been distributed and that, hopefully the potato order will be ready this weekend.

Two friends just out of High School are looking for adventure and are surprised when a gorgeous 28-year-old accepts their invitation to visit the most beautiful beach in the world, Boca de Cielo (Mouth of Heaven) which unfortunately they have made up, not expecting to be taken up on their offer!
