HORSERACING: The prestigious Lady Dudley Cup will be the centrepiece of the point-to-point at Chaddesley Corbett on Saturday from 2pm.

Among those vying for the major title at the 160-entry meeting will be the Kidderminster stables of Helen Needham and Penny Grainger.

Philtre will provide Needham's yard with a good run for their money but conditions need to ease for Young Lorcan to succeed.

Sheila Crow's Shropshire-trained Lord Harry will have his supporters on the strength of his second place in last year's event.

General Wolfe, runner-up in the Liverpool foxhunters, is unlikely to figure in the honours for this contest.

Fontaine Again, Steady Eddy and Paddy for Paddy could be considered for possible success.

Caught at Dawn, which provided 16-year-old rider Tom Weston with the first win of his career at Garnons two weeks ago, will be among the 160 entries.

They are expected to make a bid to land the Worcestershire Members for Weston's father, Hindlip farmer Martin.

The Chaddesley course has watering facilities and efforts have continued throughout the week to combat any problems caused by the prolonged dry spell.
