SWIMMING: A junior Wyre Forest Swimming Club team shrugged off the absence of several more advanced swimmers to finish a creditable fourth in the Nuneaton Junior League first round.
The swimmers at Walsall, some of whom had not competed in a gala before, were aged from nine to 12 as Forest gained eight first places, four seconds and three thirds.
The nine-year-old girls won all their individual and relay events.

The club's A team competed in the top final of the Worcester Winter League after finishing their round stages in third place.
They achieved five first places, nine seconds and seven thirds.
