MARTIAL ARTS: Karate kid Adam Ziubrzynski followed up his World Championship silver medal with a first-dan black belt.
The Tsunami student obtained the promotion in a grading course at the Shukokai Karate Federation headquarters in Blackheath.
Ziubrzynski now joins a growing number of quality cadets to be award black belts since the Kidderminster club have been coached by multi-world and European champion, Sensei Solfrid Daniels.
During the last 12 months, he has joined other members of Tsunami in the Shukokai national squad.
Other students achieved excellent results with sensei James Dean reaching his third dan and sensei Dave Powell passed his 12-month probationary period to become a full first-dan black belt.
A fifth kyu was awarded to Carli Fletcher, Ihesha Fletcher and Chris Ingle, while Karen Bateman took a fourth kyu.
