THE MUCH-vaunted project to create a bandstand at Stourport has suffered one last delay - it has no roof.
The official ceremony to open the all-but-complete structure has now been put back due to "supply" problems for the last stage of the £20,000 project.
The bandstand had been pencilled in to be opened by Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor with an afternoon of entertainment on Sunday, April 27.
But now the bandstand on the Riverside Meadows will have to wait for the sound of live music for a little longer.
"We are sorry to disappoint any members of the public, who were planning a visit around the day," said Jim Perry, secretary of Stour-port Rotary Club which has steered the scheme.
