GRANT Gibbs hit a hat-trick for the second game in a row to help Bewdley Town go eight points clear at the top of West Midlands League Division One South with a 4-1 win at Lye Town Reserves.
Gibbs' first goal came in the 12th minute when he prodded home from six yards after Chris Hough flicked on Neil Turford's long throw.
Keeper Matt Gray made a superb point-blank save from Lye's Ian Cooke before Bewdley hit back at the other end.
John Maffei, scorer of 26 league goals, was denied by Nathan Harrison's good save and John Hardiman's follow-up just cleared the bar.
It took Bewdley until the 65th minute to add to the scoreline when the hard-working Turford won the ball in midfield and Keith Elliot put Gibbs through to round the keeper for his second.
Lye replied three minutes later when Hough was adjudged to have impeded Tyrone Johnson and Tony Arnold gave Gray no chance from the penalty spot.
But Bewdley's third came when Elliot put Hough clear down the right and he pulled the ball back for Gibbs to complete his hat-trick.
The visitors wrapped the game up in the 85th minute when Hough was brought down and Paul Field found the net direct from the 25-yard free-kick.
