A DISAPPOINTING West Midlands League Division One South season was finished with a flourish by Wyre Forest Brintons who won 4-1 at Malvern Town Reserves.
Their 11th league win was sparked by Lee Hughes' header on 15 minutes to put them in front though he was later replaced by teenager John Griffin due to a back injury.
Forest Brintons were indebted to their stand-in keeper Lewis Clarke who pulled off a superb save from a low Stuart Hill shot.
After the interval, a superb pass by Robert Dew found Richard Costello who beat the Malvern defence to slip the ball past Thomas in the Malvern goal.
Dew also set up the third Forest Brintons goal, smashed into the net by 16-year-old Sean Evans in only his third appearance for the club.
Tim Brown made sure of the points with a superb right-foot strike before Malvern's consolation arrived through Paul Park.
Duncan Flowers, Dew and Brown all had good games in the Forest Brintons midfield but man-of-the-match went to 19-year-old Clarke.
The keeper, in due to the unavailability of three players, pulled off excellent saves.
Forest Brintons players are asked to meet at the ground at 1.45pm for Saturday's League Cup tie.
