AN amazing turnaround kept alive FISSC's hopes of overhauling leaders Campden Town in the Stratford Alliance Journal Division.

Two down to Shipston Excelsior, they came back to win 5-3 and move to within four points of the leaders, who slipped to 2-1 defeat at home to Needlemakers.

FISSC owed a lot to Ivor Conway, who netted a hat-trick, with one each from Marco Pace and Rich Foreman, while Shipston's goals came from Simon Plank (2) and Matt Pratt.

Two-goal Dan Laight was the hero for Needlemakers with Jim hands on the scoresheet for the leaders, who could make their game in hand count on Saturday with a visit to Railway, who had no trouble disposing of bottom club Bidford with goals from Stuart Hall (2) and Dean Hocking.

Badsey Rangers kept in touch with a 4-2 win at Henley, thanks to Neil Milberry, Tony Spencer, Tom Wilmot and Mark Haughtey.

In the Herald Division, Stratford Spartak stay second after a 3-0 home win against Alcester Lions, with goals from ben Sutton, Tim Green and Kevin Ward.
