The Duplicate competition on April 1 was played in a Howell movement, where all partnerships play each other.
Matches were extremely close, and even taking the marking to the second decimal point resulted in a tie for first place, between Nigel Wilkens and Steve Clifton, and John and Barbara Horthfield, both pairings achieving 59.03 per cent.
Gerry and Glenis Payman were next with 55 per cent.
The previous week a Mitchell movement saw Charles and Vera Smith win north-south on 65 per cent, with Tony Wilson and Pat Smith second on 51 per cent.
East-west was closer, with Nick Holcombe and Sarah Green first on 60 per cent, followed by Terry Lucey and David Brown on 59 per cent.
The club meets at The Old Lion Inn, Cleobury Mortimer, on Tuesdays at 6.45pm for a 7pm start. Anyone wishing to take part should contact Mrs Smith on 01299 270592.
