BOGUS callers posing as police officers conned their way into two homes in incidents across Wyre Forest.
Police have warned elderly people, particularly those living alone, to be on their guard after the spate of incidents on Friday.
A man and a woman, both carrying false identity cards, got into the home of a woman in her early 80s in Belbroughton Road, Blakedown, at about 7.30pm.
The female trickster kept the woman talking while her accomplice searched upstairs. A handbag, purse, bank card and disability badge were stolen in the incident, said police.
Just 15 minutes earlier a man and a woman, also claiming they were police officers, called at two homes in Baxter Gardens, Kidderminster.
The pair walked off after the occupants of both houses turned them away.
The same man may have been involved in both incidents. His victims describe him as white, early to mid 20s, with short mousey or light brown hair, and between 5ft ft 5ins and 5ft 7ins. He was clean shaven and wearing light coloured clothing, possibly a beige lightweight jacket. One victim said he had an Irish accent.
The woman with him was no more than 5ft 4ins, with short or tied back hair.
Anyone with information should call Kidderminster Police on 08457 444888.
