STUDENTS in Wolverley took part in a bid to set a new world record for the biggest lesson the planet has ever seen.
The 30-minute session saw Year 9 and 10 pupils from Wolverley High School join an estimated 1.3 million children throughout the world.
The day of action was organised by the Global Campaign for Education to highlight the plight of millions of children who do not attend school.
Anna Fowler, careers co-ordinator at the school, said: "The global lesson was a really useful way for young people to understand the opportunities they have and perhaps take for granted - opportunities children in other parts of the world do not have.
"The children were very pleased to know they could be making history."
Organisers will know by the end of the month whether the record has been broken.
