IT'S no longer a mystery - 1980s pop star and Pershore resident Toyah Willcox has completed the line-up for the next celebrity reality television show.

Eating grubs, showering in insects and putting up with other spineless creatures will all be in a day's work for the singer and actress as she takes part in the second series of ITV's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Toyah is preparing to head to the new set, which is rumoured to be in a volcanic crater in Queensland, Australia.

Her father, Beric Willcox, who lives in Wyre Piddle with his wife, Barbara, confirmed the news that 44-year-old Toyah was taking part in the second series of the reality show. The programme will mark her 25th year in showbusiness.

"I'm not allowed to say anything about it," said Mr Willcox. "It's in her contract and I'm too young to die!"

Toyah moved to Pershore with her husband, progressive rock star Robert Fripp, of the band King Crimson, who she married in 1986.

The show is bound to increase the public's awareness of the Birmingham-born star, who was awarded best female 1983 British Rock Pop Award, following a string of hits, including It's A Mystery and Thunder In The Mountains.

Recently Toyah has enjoyed a successful tour of musical Calamity Jane. She will return from the Australian wilderness to continue the role in the West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre from Thursday, June 12.

Toyah will celebrate her 45th birthday in the jungle with chef Anthony Worrall Thompson, cricketer Phil Tufnell, footballer John Fashanu, weather-girl Sian Lloyd, model Catalina Guirado, dancer Wayne Sleep, actress Daniella Westbrook, actor Chris Bisson and interior designer Linda Barker.
