THE trip to Hartpury Church and Community Chapel by 52 members of Staunton and District Over 60's Club included a short talk by Jim Chapman on the history of the chapel. Coffee and cakes served by Holly and Mary and was very much enjoyed.

The majority of members afterwards walked to the churchyard to see the bee shelter, some members are hoping it can be an annual event.

The great healing qualities of aloe vera for both people and animals were explained by Pauline McNee when she visited the club with a selection of products.

A large coach has been booked to take 52 members to Hazelfields for lunch and Dial-A-Ride will also be taking disabled members so that no one is left out. Home Safety Check will be making a visit to the club shortly.

Benny the donkey led the procession of witness on Palm Sunday from Staunton Cross to Staunton Parish Church where Canon John Evans conducted the service. Benny stood by the pulpit throughout the service and behaved impeccably. Nigel Smith read the lesson and Margaret Riley accompanied the hymns.

On Easter Sunday the service will be at 10.30am when there will be newly hatched chicks and Easter eggs for children and everyone will be given a piece of the fruit cake the children helped to make on Mothering Sunday.

Easter gardens on a plate, Easter hats and decorated Easter eggs made a very colourful picture at Staunton and Corse CE School's Easter fair organised by the PTFA. An Easter egg was given to the winner in each class. The school gardening club had a nice assortment of plants for sale, which they had grown including broad beans, peas and chrysanthemums. The chocolate stall sold out very quickly and there were lots of well stocked stalls. During the afternoon most people went out to watch the netball and football competitions and at the end of the day a profit of £470 was made.
