CRAFTSPEOPLE brought a splash of colour to Newent when they held their spring show.
A total of seventeen members of Newent and District Craft-Workers' Guild held stalls at Newent's Memorial Hall on Saturday.
A wide selection of handmade-wares were on sale, they varied from organic soaps to hand-painted glass.
Guild member Vivien Barton was selling a range of toys that includes dolls, bean-bag frogs and clowns. The toys' appearance is determined by the time of year.
"I try to produce things especially for the seasons," explained Vivien, of Whitecroft, Gloucestershire. "For example my clowns at Christmas will be in reds and greens and at spring I like to put the dolls in flowery dresses."
Vivien said the show was quieter than usual but that she still finds the exhibitions fun.
"It's a nice atmosphere at the shows and I enjoy it. We are all good friends at the Guild."
Lucy Murray, from Westbury, was selling her hand-painted glass. "I paint the designs on free hand and then bake the item in the oven for about 40 minutes," said Lucy.
"I do vases and bowls. I just started it as a hobby about three years ago and I've been a member for a year and a half. It is a good atmosphere and you meet lots of nice people."
The Guild was founded in 1984 and aims to encourage local crafts people to produce their own high-quality pieces.
The Guild's summer show will be held in the Memorial Hall, Newent between 10am and 4.30pm on July 26. It will also exhibit at St Katherine's Hall in Ledbury for the town carnival on August 25 and at The George Hotel for the Newent Onion Fayre on September 13.
The Christmas show will be at Newent Memorial Hall on November 29.
