CASH and jewellery have been stolen from an elderly woman in Malvern by two men claiming to be from "the council".
Just before 9pm on Mon-day, two men called at her home in Lower Wyche Road and said they needed to check her water.
Police, who are seeking help to track down the men, said that as one of them went to the kitchen, the other went into various rooms in the house.
It was not until the men had left that the lady realised a quantity of cash and jewellery, including rings and a broach, had been taken.
The first man is described as a clean shaven white male with a small face, aged about 20 and 5ft 5ins tall. He wore a navy blue tracksuit and a baseball cap. The other man was a white male of a similar age with short light brown hair, clean shaven who wore a blue track suit-type outfit.
DC Dave Glass said: "I would appeal to anyone who thinks they may have seen these two men in the area to contact me. I am also keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen two men matching these descriptions getting into a vehicle in the area."
Anyone with information should contact police on 08457 444 888 quoting 209C/140403.
