KIDDERMINSTER Harriers defender Adie Smith is a doubtful starter for tomorrow's Nationwide League Division Three clash against promotion-chasing Wrexham at Aggborough (3pm).

The former Bromsgrove Rovers campaigner has a knee injury which he sustained on Tuesday night when Harriers kept alive their outside chance of a play-off place with a 1-0 win at Rochdale.

Scott Stamps has been put on standby to take his place in the defence if Smith is unable to play.

Stamps replaced Smith in the 60th minute against Rochdale at Spotland when Harriers ended their damaging run of six matches without a victory.

Kidderminster have other injury concerns over goalkeeper Stuart Brock, striker Andy Bishop and midfielders Dean Bennett and John Melligan.

Brock and Bishop have knee problems, Bennett has thigh trouble and Melligan is suffering from blisters.

All four, however, are expected to face Wrexham who are in third place in the table and favourites to clinch an automatic promotion spot.

Harriers will be without 20-goal leading scorer Bo Henriksen who starts a two-match suspension which he received after picking up his tenth booking of the season in his side's recent 2-2 home draw with table-topping Hartlepool United.

On-form Wrexham will arrive at Aggborough on the back of a nine-match unbeaten run which began after they lost 1-0 at relegation-haunted Exeter City on March 4.

Aggborough boss Ian Britton accepts that their bid to clinch a top seven play-off slot will be difficult, but is not giving up hope until their chances are mathematically impossible.

He said: "We won't give up. We don't want to go out with a whimper. We have still to play Wrexham and York, who are in those play-off places.

"It's still in our grasp. We've decided to just 'go for it' and play football the way we want to play it."

Wrexham will be on a revenge mission against Britton's men who clinched a 2-0 win at the Racecourse Ground on December 21 thanks to goals from Sean Parrish and John Melligan.

Harriers will continue their run-in to the end of the season on Monday when they visit play-off hopefuls York City.

Their final two games will be at Hull City on Saturday, April 26, and at home to relegation-threatened Bristol Rovers on Saturday, May 3.

FORMCAST: Harriers' play-off hopes dashed by a 2-1 defeat.
