PIPE and slippers, a chicken suit and cling film will be the attire for several teenagers during a day of sponsored events at Malvern Youth Centre.
From 2pm on Saturday, April 26, staff and youngsters will indulge in a range of activities before an evening gig to fund-raise for a four-day trip to Italy in May.
The event aims to raise £600 towards an exchange trip to perform for rock-school students in Concordia, who came to Malvern last month.
As well as wearing funny outfits, two people will walk, one to Worcester carrying eggs and another to Cheltenham and back. The limbs of a couple of young men will also be waxed, while others have hair and beards dyed and another will spend the day in a wheelchair.
Two staff members will sing, in the style of TV comics Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, while normally chatty area youthworker Dena Falk is being sponsored to keep quiet for 24-hours. Despite the difficulty of her task Ms Falk said she is determined to pull it off.
"At the moment I am on a promise of £180," she said, "Although we have agreed I am allowed to laugh."
At 7pm youth bands Miles Before We Sleep, Closewater Tragedies, Dum-fox and Downfall will perform. The gig is open to everyone over the age of 13 and admission is £3.
Ms Falk said that the bands would perform again in Italy, and those visiting would learn more about what being a student at a rock school means.
