THE tension is mounting as nominees in the Worcestershire All Sports Partnership awards wait to found out if they will be among the lucky winners.
Young hopefuls from across the county will gather for the special presentation evening, which aims to recognise the amount of sporting talent in the area.
City councillor Derek Prodger, who is the cabinet member for community services, will be presenting an award alongside WASP patrons, including the BBC Midlands Today's Nick Owen, and badminton Olympic gold medallist Simon Archer.
The event is being held at Worcester Rugby Club's Sixways ground on Wednesday, April 23.
Winners will be announced in seven categories - senior sports personality of the year, junior sports personality of the year, disabled sports personality of the year, coach of the year, club of the year, junior team of the year and a special award for the year's most outstanding contribution.
