The home side reverted to a 3-5-2 formation with Foster up front and Bennett back on the right flank.
An excellent cross from Bennett gave Harriers a great opportunity but Bishop flicked his header wide with Parrish steaming in behind him ready to pounce.
A great save from Brock denied the visitors on 24 minutes as he stood up well to block from to scorer Morrell who was put through by strike partner Trundle.
A vital clearance from experienced defender Carey prevented Bishop having a chance at goal following a good assist from Parrish who had swapped passes with Foster on 29 minutes.
But Wrexham were ahead on 37 minutes through Trundle's 11th goal of the season, an excellent 20-yaerd strike that gave Brock no chance after his marker Scott had stood off him.
Another save from Brock denied Wrexham a second on 39 minutes, saving from goalscorer Trundle, who was given an excellent chance by wing-back C Edwards.
A Roberts foul on Foster a minute from half-time earned the Wrexham defender a booking.
