MUSIC-lovers were forced to leave their seats as unexpected drama broke out at Malvern Theatres.
An automatic fire alarm on Saturday sparked the evacuation at Winter Gardens.
The last night of Love and Marriage, and the one-off Solid Silver 60s Show, were interrupted by the scare, around 9.35pm.
The fire alarm came halfway through Barry Ryan's performance, as he sang I Will Drink the Wine in memory of his brother Paul, who had written it for Frank Sinatra.
Evacuate
"It was a moving song," said Don Fraser, who was at the sell-out Forum Theatre show.
"We saw smoke coming from behind the stage and thought it was part of the act, then we were told to evacuate the building.
"It was a shame because he was doing it in memory of his brother."
A Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade crew responded to the alarm but left within minutes after a check of the building.
The show carried on minutes after with the rest of Barry Ryan's act and The Searchers.
