COUNTRYWIDE Stores is to set up a branch in Malvern Link after planning permission for the move was approved at the second attempt.
The site at Worcester Road is currently home to BH Motors' showroom but Countrywide managing director Ian Smith said he hoped the new store will be open within three to four months.
Objections had been raised to the application as the site was not designated for retail development.
But at a meeting of Malvern Hills District Council's southern area planning sub-committee, members agreed with planning officers that the site was the only one suitable for the firm in the area.
Councillors voted unanimously to grant permission.
Mr Smith said he was very pleased to receive approval for the development.
"We believe our store will be an asset to the community of Malvern," he said.
Run from its Upton-upon-Severn base, Countrywide provides animal feed, seeds, fertilisers, plant protection products, as well clothing, equestrian, pet, gardening and garden machinery products at 30 stores across the centre and south west of the UK.
The Malvern shop will employ between 10 and 12 people.
