MEMBERS of an old school choir are re-grouping to capture the magic of their school days.

Past singers of Droitwich High School's Madrigal Choir Toby Thorp and Steve Carley, together with leader Kevin Dowson, are organising a reunion concert.

They hope to bring together as many members from its 22-year history to take part in a special performance on Saturday, July 19.

It was originally planned as a small get-together but the event has now spiralled to include anyone who has performed with the group.

Although many details have yet to be finalised, it is hoped the day will consist of a rehearsal and a short evening performance, followed by a meal and drinks. There are also plans to invite people to re-form any small singing groups, duets or solo acts they used to perform at the High School.

The organisers already have the backing of nearly 30 members of the Madrigal Choir from the past decade, but hope to increase that to at least 50, dating all the way back to 1981, and they are urging anyone connected with the group to get in touch.

"It is vital people get in contact with us as soon as possible so that we can put together the best day possible for everyone," said Mr Thorp.

Anyone interested can call Mr Thorp on 01905 774235 or send an e-mail to steve147@carleyfam.freeserve.co.uk
