WORCESTERSHIRE'S forgotten man Phil Weston returned to the county side at Bristol today as Tom Moody's men resumed County Championship duty against Gloucestershire.
The tall opener -- Worcester-shire's key performer with the bat last season until skipper Graeme Hick's late season run boom -- has been out of favour since the opening Champion-ship game of the season.
Weston failed twice in the County's first meeting with Gloucestershire, and was left out at Northampton the following week.
With winter signing Stephen Peters having started the season in fine form, both Weston and his regular opening partner Anurag Singh lost their places.
But Singh won his back quickly, and, with Peters having succumbed to a broken thumb in the county's last Championship game against Essex, that let Weston back in today as Moody reverted to the formula of playing six batsmen.
Worcestershire won the toss and were 17-0 after six overs.
Worcs: Singh, Solanki, Hick, Smith, Leatherdale, Batty, Rhodes, Weston, Kabir Ali, Bichel, Sheriyar.
