WORCESTERSHIRE will have to try again tomorrow to play their Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy third round tie against Cornwall at St Austell.
Heavy rain left the pitch saturated and the umpires decided very early today to call off play for the day.
But with the prospect of more rain today, Worcestershire might even have to face the prospect of a bowl-out to decide who will travel to Ireland or Nottinghamshire in the next round.
The sides are also exploring the possibility of switching the tie to another ground in Cornwall or elsewhere, but moving the tie to New Road has been ruled out.
Worcestershire plan to field their strongest possible line-up for the clash, but it is unlikely that Australian star Andy Bichel will open the batting again, having done so to great effect in their Benson and Hedges Cup quarter-final victory over Gloucestershire last week. Vikram Solanki will revert to the opening slot.
