BROMSGROVE Rovers are relying on the 'old boy network' to help lift them up the Dr Martens League Western Division.

Three former Rovers men -- defender Mark Bowater and strikers Richard Ball and Colin Radburn -- played in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat against leaders Moor Green.

All will figure in tonight's trip to Stourbridge (7.30) as Rovers seek their first win of the season.

Ball, who was on loan at Rovers late last season from West Bromwich Albion, has rejoined the club on a permanent basis after a brief spell with Weymouth.

Chief executive Pat Bannister said: "I believe there were a lot of promises in his Weymouth contract that they didn't fulfil so they released him and he came straight back to us. We are looking for a lot from him and Stuart Payne."

Radburn, who played for Rovers in their Conference days, is back after a spell at Paget Rangers. Bannister added: "For personal reasons he stopped playing football for a while but hopefully after a few games, he will be back to his best."

Meanwhile, Redditch United give a debut to left-back Andy Yapp in tonight's home clash with Hinckley United (7.30).

Yapp, a summer signing from Pershore Town, has yet to figure but is set to start with injuries restricting boss Rob Smith's options.

Jamie Hart (hip), Stuart Randall (ankle) and Mark Smith (unavailable) are all out and Neil Manton is rated as 50-50 with a calf injury.

Paul Burton is likely to return to the starting line-up in attack.

Reds recovered from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Sutton Coldfield on Saturday but Smith says tonight's game will be another tough one. "They are not a bad side, but we shall try and keep it 0-0 for the first 15 minutes this time," he joked.
