"WITH a little bit of luck, we can make it through... February.''
Apologies to DJ Luck for poaching his top ten hit, but it sums up Rovers' latest league victory quite smartly.
During their pre-Christmas low patch, gloomy fans frequently complained about their team not getting the run of the green.
But at the Victoria Ground on Saturday, it was payback time -- leaving the visitors shaking their heads in sheer frustration.
"To be honest, I thought we were lucky to go in 1-0 up but then we had two one-on-ones and should have increased our lead,'' said Daley.
"Evesham had a lot of pressure. They hit the post and had a shot cleared off the line but, for once, luck was on our side.
"Tom Davies was outstanding and Andy Biddle is going to be a real asset to the club. He's only 19 and hasn't played for a couple of months but he's getting stronger with every game.''
It was the fresh-faced newcomer who set up Rovers' winner 11 minutes before the break.
His free kick from the right hand side was headed upwards by Peter Sutton. When the ball returned to earth, the quick-thinking Sutton pounced to knock it over the line with Robins 'keeper Darren Houghton all over the place. That's goal number five in six league games.
Daley's right. A sleepy Rovers line-up failed to stamp their authority on the game, giving Evesham's lively Phil Preedy and Joe Licata plenty of attacking opportunities.
However, they failed to seriously trouble home 'keeper Nore Gabbidon, who was struggling with a thigh strain.
Sutton missed an excellent chance to double Rovers' lead on 69 minutes, sprinting clear of the visiting defence and unleashing a well-struck shot that Houghton turned round the post.
And, with seconds remaining, Houghton raced off his line to thwart the in-form striker for a second time.
Inbetween, Rovers' back line were on red alert. Craig Gillett fired over from inches out after Matt Coppin hit the post and Steve Ulfig got in the way of Trevor Whittington's follow up to Dean Roberts' spilled shot.
Rovers: Gabbidon, Davies, Ulfig, Ashley, Bowater, Townsend, Humphreys, Sutton, Benbow, Biddle, Jinks. Subs (unused): Rochester, Hunter, Ball.
Attendance: 545. Rovers man of the match: Tom Davies.
