BROMSGROVE Rovers could be on the verge of establishing a link with a Nationwide League club.
The link will enable the unnamed club sending some of its talented youngsters to Bromsgrove to enable them to get first-team experience.
The link is unlikely to be established in time for tonight's Dr Martens League Western Division trip to Gresley Rovers (7.45).
But Rooney said: "It will help enormously with our immediate problem. We are faced with the finance of having to get some extra quality in, and obviously it is so competitive to get them.
"I am discussing perhaps taking two at a time, which will give us some quality and lift the burden of having to pay them."
For tonight Rooney is likely to stick with the side that drew 0-0 at Weston last week, with midfielder Marc Burrow likely to miss out through a knee injury.
Rovers (from): Gabbidon, Frost, Ulfig, Townsend, Cameron, Turpin, Benbow, Broadhurst, Sutton, Burgess, Pountney, Biddle, J. Beard, Burrow.
