WORCESTERSHIRE were boosted by the return of wicketkeeper Steve Rhodes for their County Championship Division Two match against Nottinghamshire which opened at Trent Bridge today.
Rhodes had missed the County's last three games because of a torn thigh muscle.
Notts won the toss and decided to bat with Jason Gallian and Guy Welton facing the pace attack of Matt Mason and Alamgir Sheriyar.
After 12 overs the Nottinghamshire openers had crawled to just 21-0.
Notts: Gallian, Welton, Bicknell, Afzaal, Johnson, Shafayat, Read, Franks, MacGill, Harris, Smith.
Worcs: S.D. Peters, A. Singh, G.A. Hick, B.F. Smith, V.S. Solanki, D.A. Leatherdale, G.J. Batty, S.J. Rhodes, Kabir Ali, M.S. Mason, A. Sheriyar.
Worcestershire paceman Kabir Ali and spinner Gareth Batty will both be involved with the National Academy this winter.
The Academy's programme, under Rodney Marsh's direction, comprises two six-week courses in Adelaide each side of Christmas and a tour to Sri Lanka.
