WORCESTERSHIRE Royals will be bidding to return to the top of the Norwich Union League Division One table when they take on Warwickshire Bears in a floodlit clash at Edgbaston on Monday (4.10pm).

Glamorgan Dragons took over the leadership earlier this week when they secured a comfortble three-wicket win at Dur-ham Dynamoes.

It was their second victory in four days and gave them a two points advantage over skipper Graeme Hick's second-placed Wor-cestershire team.

The Dragons, who have now played the same number of matches as the County, are not in action in the next round of games.

The Bears, meanwhile, are in fourth spot following a dip in their title-chasing hopes.

They have lost four of their 11 matches with one no result and have little room for any further slip-ups.

The County have already triumphed at Edgbaston this season, having overcome Warwickshire by three wickets in a Benson and Hedges Cup competition group match on May 3.

They also beat the 'Old Enemy' by four runs in an exciting league match at New Road on June 24 when an explosive century by South African skipper Shaun Pollock proved in vain.

The County's batting hero was Vikram Solanki who hit a magnificent 119 not out.
