PAST and present employees of Kay & Co Ltd, the Worcester mail order giant, will have a chance to trip down memory lane on Saturday, when the firm's heritage group holds an open day.
On display will be part of its extensive collection of Kays catalogues dating back to the early 20th Century
There will also be items from bygone days that were sold by the company, such as sewing machines, clocks and watches, and displays of old documents.
Memories
Thanks to modern technology, visitors will be able to take along photographs and documents that can be scanned into the archive, as well as recording their own personal memories on to disk.
The event will be held at the heritage centre at the company's warehouse at 250 Bransford Road, Worcester, between 9.30am and 4pm.
Kays Heritage Group was set up to record and document the history of the local firm that grew into one of the biggest names in mail order.
Through memories and anecdotes of current and past employees, together with official documents and photographs, it aims to produce the definitive history of Kays, which is now part of the Reality Group.
