A BLANKET of bluebells will be the stunning backdrop to two spring walks at a Worcestershire beauty spot.
Ramblers can also gaze at sprawling wood anemones, butterflies, flowers, birds and meadow plants during the annual day out at Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve, near Alfrick, on Sunday, April 27.
Organised by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, the walks, led by warden Fergus Henderson, meander through stream-lined meadows, woodland and orchards and if walkers are lucky, they might glimpse a shy resident otter.
The walks start promptly at midday and 2pm, while the open day itself kicks off at 11am.
Children are also invited to join in games organised by the Trust's junior group, the Watch team.
As well as exploring the stream for "mini beasts", they have the chance to create their own creatures and take part in competitions.
The whole family can also enjoy craft demonstrations and peruse displays about the Trust's work.
Mr Henderson said they were opening a little earlier this year so they could show the bluebell woods at their best.
"We hope to see lots of people at the open day, coming to enjoy the activities we've planned as well as the reserve itself," he said.
Admission is £2 for adults, £1 for children and £3.50 for families.
Refreshments are available and car parking is free.
To reach the reserve, turn right at the Bransford roundabout, turn left and follow the Smith End Green to Alfrick Pound Road for about three miles.
