A YOUNG soldier from Tenbury Wells is critically ill, after receiving serious injures in a road accident last week.
Christopher Bridges, said to be in his early twenties, was riding a red Yamaha R6 when the collision, involving an orange Honda CR-V estate, driven by a woman from Cardiff and a blue Leyland Daf lorry driven by a man from Redditch, occurred in Stourport.
He was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where police described his condition as critical, and it is expected that he will be transferred from the Intensive Care Unit at Worcester to a military hospital.
West Mercia Police are investigating the incident, which happened at the junction between Bullus Road and Minster Road, Stourport at around 1.05pm on Tuesday April 15.
PC Dean Cave of North Worcestershire Divisional Traffic Unit said: "Mr. Bridges is still critical but stable. We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or the events leading up to it to contact us at Kidderminster Police Station on 08457 444 888, extension 3952."
