A REDDITCH firefighter who was called out to Iraq shortly before war broke out has been forced to postpone his wedding.
Simon Link, of White Watch, has been a member of the Territorial Army for more than 10 years and received his call-up letter just eight days before he had to leave.
Bosses at Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade granted Mr Link, 32, permission to go and he has been serving as a corporal in the Pioneer Regiment for the last five weeks.
Mr Link, who lives in Great Barr, was due to marry fiance Julia Osborne at the end of May but recent events have forced the couple to postpone the big day.
