REDDITCH Regents answered all the question about their title pedigree by storming to an emphatic finish in their final fixture to claim the title.
Incredibly, with a title at stake, Redditch went into their final game at Orillo not knowing whether they had already won the title because of uncertainty over title rivals Smiths Wood Sabres penultimate fixture.
But with the visitors knowing a win would remove any title doubts the Arrow Vale-based side ran out winners by 41 points.
A nervy start saw Regents 16-9 down after the first quarter but the leaders hit back to go six points ahead by the end of the second quarter and never looked back.
They romped 20 points ahead at the end of the third and were allowed the luxury of drawing the final period before the title celebrations began.
Victory left Redditch with an impressive 17-1 record with the only league defeat coming against Smiths Wood.
Danny Moorhouse top scored with 17 in the final outing to crown a prolific season and 17-year-old guard Jimmy Bradshaw is looking forward to his first taste of the West Midlands League Premier Division next season after breaking into the first team and figuring in more than half the fixtures.
Redditch will be invited to have another crack at the top regional level after a short-lived spell in the top flight after promotion in the 1997-98 season.
