GEARBOX trouble curtailed Oakenshaw driver Enzo Mucci's secong outing in the British GT Championship.
The warning signs were there when the Clio V6 gearbox started to rattle during Saturday's free practice.
The Atlanta Motorsports engineers decided a new gearbox was needed and the team was forced to buy another Clio V6 race car to use the gearbox, and missed qualifying so the team started last on the grid for the two hour endurance race at Snetterton.
Teammate Adam Sharpe was behind the wheel for the first hour and the car was well-placed after a smooth driver change at the halfway stage.
Mucci was putting in consistent times when disaster struck 23 minutes into his drive.
Fourth gear failed to engage on the long back straight and Mucci's race was over.
